NEW YORK YANKEES - George M. Steinbrenner Field became spring home to the New York Yankees in February of 1996, when the facility welcomed them to Tampa for Spring Training. New York Yankees Spring Training since then has become a phenomenon in the Tampa Bay area generating over 200,000 fans each spring.
